About Us


Organizational Profile

Who we are: a group of volunteer officers and staff that devote their time and skills to the realization of achievable programs that help marginalized families and Filipinos in general to uplift their current condition. We link with private individuals, other groups, business and government organizations to deliver programs that matter such as spreading awareness about the importance of literacy through our Reading Caravan and Reading Festival events; provide a means for talented individuals to dream and follow their dreams by providing them with sufficient multi-media exposure and linking them with professional contacts through talent search and development activities; teach by example and sharing the importance of sustainable practices such as planting and cultivating trees, the 3Rs, and other practices that make our world a better place if only for a while.

Mission and Vision
It is the mission of Bituen to use in full all available resources from arts, events, culture and communications to help improve the lives of the majority of Filipinos it touches, specially the marginalized- economically or socially. It envisions a more equitable and sustainable land where majority of Filipinos are empowered and can decide for their own good, aspire and reach their potential for their own good and for the country.

What we have done: Distributed books and educational materials in the Reading Caravan and Reading Festival series in northern Luzon schools, Rizal, Leyte, Bataan, and other parts of the country; conducted a series of talent search and development activities, conducted trade fairs and set-up online directories to promote local industries, started the Reading Caravan series, opened several Reading Caravan mini libraries. In our own small efforts, we have also spawned tree-planting and cultivating activities, continue spreading awareness about sustainable practices through 3Rs of Fun in Waste, a book about waste management at the individual and household level supported by the National Solid Waste Management Commission (DENR), and conducted several Sustainability seminars, forums, and workshops with professionals, community leaders, students, DepEd teachers, and out-of-school youths.















What Partners, Donors, and Sponsors receive in return: Tax break, multi-media promotions and CSR awareness campaigns are provided to all our sponsors, partners and donors as we spread goodwill and cooperation between our target beneficiaries, the populace, and providers.
PRINT & Traditional Media: Since 1992, the people behind the PR team of Bituen have been providing research, writing and coordination services for individuals and companies that require media presence in major dailies and targeted magazines, as well as radio, and television. Our clientele is a diverse mix of television and recording artists and entertainers, politicians, and consumer products like OctoArts, ABS-CBN Talent Development Center, Syntax Corporate Communications, Canticle Entertainment, Loudhouse P.I. Music, and Kuwago NME. The already popular artists seeking our services attest to the importance of proper and well-executed PR campaigns and materials which we provide. Actual publication of these PR materials determines the respect and bond we have with the press / media. In the growing competitive business sector, media presence remains one of the most consistent requirements to establish a name, product or company. The Captive Audience: Live events bring the consumer and audience closer to their admired celebrities as well as their corresponding sponsors to connect and provide actual experience of fun, thrill, excitement and satisfaction. Throughout the years, we have collaborated with the likes of The Youth, Kitchie Nadal, Calla Lilly, Goin Bulilit Kids, Sex Bomb, EB Babes, and many others for our events. This actual experience widens awareness, ensures support for services / product loyalty and appreciation. Bituen has staged well-attended & memorable events among thousands of audiences since 2001. We conceptualize the right exposure for the individual/ organization at the right CSR event and execute them with your welfare in mind. Our events include workshops, concerts, expos, festivals, and live shows with popular entertainers. Committed towards providing direct link with stars, companies and their audience/consumers, we provide the right CSR program and the right exposure every sponsor requires.


The Internet: We have utilized the latest platform to connect and increase awareness of these CSR programs using streaming media, social networks, and other web portals to maximize exposure and awareness. Through these various ways and means, we not only encourage transparency on our activities but also ensure the delivery of your support to your intended recipients, at the right time

Programs
Reading Caravan: The core of our reading and literacy goals, reading caravan is a roving / mobile library that involves marginalized children and their families from remote areas to participate in reading and interpretation activities. All participants are provided practical (every-day item) tokens to encourage and motivate them. Winners are provided books and school supplies that will stoke their interest in reading and learning. Aside from the participants, additional learning exposure will be
provided to audiences. Target participants: 30. Duration: 1 day. Winners: 6 (Elementary levels). Target audience: 100 or more. (Monthly). Report is provided within the next 4-8 weeks after event is done.
Reading Caravan Station / Library: This will ensure content and usability of donated / leased rooms or buildings as library in remote areas of the country. Books and other learning materials such as board games will be provided for the area. In addition, 1 year allowance for volunteer worker/ librarian / teacher and supervision of Bituen will ensure that the library will not remain a silent witness to the movement of history but a hub for actual learning. Duration: minimum of one year. Materials: 100 books, 20 learning aids, 1 volunteer worker, 1 monthly evaluator. Report is provided within the next 6-12 months after implementation.
Reading Festival: This is an annual activity that enlists popular television personalities to host or provide entertainment in-between inter-school reading and interpretation activities. All participants are provided with books and winners and their coach teachers receive additional teaching/learning materials as well.
Sustainability Projects: Publication of 3Rs of Fun in Waste, training and workshop for youths and adults that provide them seedling trees and supplies for cultivating trees, and information campaigns about the 3Rs and how to apply in their everyday lives. This will ensure that we are
helping arrest environment destruction and reduce carbon emission. 3Rs, seedling tree planting, composting, etc. Sustainability Seminars, Forums, & Workshops. An event that enjoins GO, NGOs and private sector patterned after the instant city approach to popularize sustainable practices from industry down to household levels. It is a 3-day free sustainability workshops, forums, awarding ceremonies, and multi-media activities all focused on achievable commitment and practices to promote sustainable living.








Talent Development Workshop. A 5-day workshop of singing, dancing, modelling and acting to culminate in a videotaped show and uploaded at Youtube and Facebook with names of all donors at the closing billboard. This is usually open to all ages and all gender to encourage inclusion, and usually involves a minimum of 50 participants. This event is undertaken in remote barangay areas to discover talents and hone raw skills. This is conducted in conjunction with Modelizta Philippines.
